The crucial things dr.'s don't tell you. Such as take with food, don't take with milk, and the most important.....take at the beginning of the meal. These are things that are necessary to know when taking medications. One example, Augmentin. It's a wonder drug and wonderful at making you even more ill than you were in the first place! I have first hand knowledge. If it had not been for the wonderful J Wo I am sure I would have crawled under the desk and DIED!! (Kami, I think I know how you felt in New Orleans!). She looked up Augmentin in the trusty Drug Information Handbook all Dental Hygienist's know so well. There it gave the important information to take the pill at the beginning of the meal. When I asked the Dr about any special instructions he said "probably you should take it with food". Was that enough information??
So, FYI, if you are a hygienist ,use that book faithfully both in practice and at home. Your loved ones will be eternally grateful. If you are not a hygienist and know a hygienist, beocme their friend and have his/her number on speed dial for times like this. If you are not a hygienist and do not know one, find one and become their friend. They are quite handy to have around. They know alot of things, not just flossing. Bottom line is Dr's don't always tell you everything. When in doubt, ask your hygienist.
